RAINIER COUNTRY - Winter 2010 DuPont remembers its hometown heroes with a new memorial dedicated on Veterans Day to those lost in the war on terrorism. Unused or expired prescription drugs are dangerous to people and the environment. We learn how Puyallup is easing the threat. Fife honors its rich farm legacy with an expanding historical museum, and a restored vegetable barn that will be a community gathering place. Former workers recall the old Sumner Cannery's rich, and sometimes amusing, history. It will soon be home to a new visitor center too.
Little Orting goes big-time with a new slogan that captures both the small town feel of the place and it's huge view of Mount Rainier. The sustainability effort in University Place goes far beyond city hall. We learn more about this community-wide push to conserve. Finding a scenic place to get married is easy for couples who choose Pierce County's breath-taking Chambers Creek Properties overlooking Puget Sound.

RAINIER COUNTRY - Winter 2009 This first Rainier Country takes place in Puyallup and is hosted by Glenda Carino, Public Affairs Officer. You're going to learn about and see rain gardens being installed in a neighborhood in Puyallup. The City of Fife is restoring two characters in their rail history from each end of the train. DuPont celebrated 100 years with a grand event.
The City of Sumner is always welcoming new business and industry. Learn what it takes to keep the greens, fairways and tee boxes ready at Pierce County's Chambers Bay Golf Course. City of University Place has a new park especially created for our favorite four legged companions.
