Pierce County Councilman Shawn Bunney represents eastern and southern Pierce County including the areas of Buckley, Wilkeson, Carbonado, Bonney Lake, Sumner, Edgewood, Milton, South Prairie, Orting, and Graham.

Prior to his election, Shawn was legal advisor to the County Council for 10 years.

He graduated from Evergreen State College and the UPS Law School.

Shawn is a leader. Fellow councilmembers elected him Chairman for two years running. He is recognized regionally as a leader in transportation issues and he serves on the Puget Sound Regional Council Executive Board.

Shawn forced economic and job development to the forefront of the county's priorities and he implemented performance audit recommendations to make the county operate more effectively.

He helped develop programs to provide fresh produce to thousands of seniors. He has provided supervised activities for thousands of school kids, and he is working to teach kids the benefits of good nutrition and exercise.

Shawn served as a White House Intern with President Reagan, and worked for U.S. Treasury Secretary Brady in the first Bush Administration.

One of Shawn's proudest accomplishments is having achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

Shawn and his wife Patti reside in the Lake Tapps community.
